Job Description

Accounts Payable Clerk

An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a small team within the Accounts/Admin Department. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the successful applicant will provide general support to the Manager and, although not exhaustive, will also be responsible for:

· UK Stock Invoices and credits - processing and posting

· MODs to products and New Product Proposal processing

· Barcodes + Labels for Warehouse management System (New for 2020/21)

· Creating/Updating Creditor Accounts

· Supplier statement reconciliations

· Setup Foreign payments in GBP, USD and EURO’s on online banking

· Post Foreign payments onto Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains)

· Setup UK payments on online banking

· Sales Ledger Bacs allocation and posting – weekly to cover (Multicurrency)

· Supplier payment run - Mid Month

· Review Discountinued stock items

· Annotate Stock (Nominal) Accounts - Completion: to be done when PL closure

· Scanning various documents into Filestream

· Answering calls and dealing with queries

· Other associated duties and other ad hoc tasks to cover when other members of the team are absent due to training, annual leave or sickness:

o Duty and VAT checking

o Freight Invoices and C88 checking

o Import Stock Invoices

o Duty Refund/overpayment claims

o Run the Sales reports - End of Day

o Sales Ledger Credit Note - Processing CQ's

Mon-Thurs 9am-5pm (45min lunch) Fridays 9am-3.30pm (30min lunch) - total 35 hrs per week

Applicants must have a good standard of education including passes in GCSE or equivalent level in Mathematics and English. Qualified to AAT Level 3 – 4 (or equivalent) is beneficial. Applicants must be able to demonstrate an ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities, whilst maintaining high levels of attention to detail and quality of output. IT skills with advanced Excel knowledge is essential.

A self- confident manner combined with strong interpersonal and effective communication skills are important qualities required to undertake this role.
